Our Mission - The Leavenworth Main Street Program, Inc., through a program of community awareness and involvement will work to revitalize and preserve the downtown through education and historic preservation to keep it a viable and attractive area for the benefit of the entire community.  We are a 501©3 corporation, organized in 1995, structured through the National Trust for Historic Preservation, National Main Street Center, with support from Kansas Main Street and celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2010! 

Leavenworth Main Street is a volunteer driven organization, headed by a hard-working Board of Directors.  Wendy Scheidt is the Executive Director.   Our organization provides many annual events & activities downtown through our promotion & organization committees, offers education, guidance & assistance to merchants, building owners & entrepreneurs through our economic restructuring & design committees and utilizes fundraising opportunities, business & associate membership & city funding for our operating budget.
